Basketball has become a big deal at Bellflower St. John Bosco, thanks to the arrival of former Taft Coach Derrick Taylor and the Hamilton brothers, Isaac and Daniel.

Isaac, a junior, is averaging 25.2 points. Daniel, a sophomore, is averaging 19.1 points. They came from Crenshaw. Taylor, who built Taft into a City Section power, has the Braves 16-4 and 5-0 in the Trinity League entering Friday’s showdown game at home against Santa Ana Mater Dei.

‘Let me tell you, it’s pretty nice,’ Taylor said of coaching at a private school. ‘My office is three times the size at Taft. The support base is outstanding. I do like the [financial] stability of the private schools.’

Above is an interview with Taylor about the Hamilton brothers and life coaching at a private school.
