Boys’ basketball: Palisades overcomes 10-point deficit to defeat Gahr

Down by 10 points with under four minutes left, Palisades forced four turnovers and rallied to defeat Cerritos Gahr, 70-69, in a final tuneup before entering a tough stretch of Western League games.

Donovan Johnson scored 19 points and Tyler Hildreth for the Dophins (7-8). Gahr (11-5) received 16 points from Anthony Martinez.

In the Alpha League, Campbell Hall defeated Sierra Canyon, 73-71, in overtime. Aaron Holiday had 24 points and Cole Huff 21. Jahmel Taylor scored 21 points for Sierra Canyon.

In the Marmonte League, Calabasas defeated Agoura, 69-41. Josh Cohan had 17 points and Holden Israel 16. Royal defeated Simi Valley, 55-40. Scott Woods had 15 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks. Westlake defeated Moorpark, 53-48.

In the Trinity League, Payton Banks scored 30 points in Orange Lutheran’s 64-53 win over Santa Margarita.

In the Pac-7 League, Righetti (12-2, 2-0) defeated Santa Maria St. Joseph, 71-64. Hunter Walker scored 25 points and Ryan McGready had 18.

Freshman Marcus LoVett Jr. had 30 points and senior Patrick Gonzalez 28 as Burbank Providence defeated Sherman Oaks Buckley, 69-53.

Brentwood (11-2) defeated Crossroads, 66-44. Leland King had 17 poitns and Tra Holder 15.

St. John Bosco (11-2) defeated Compton Dominguez, 84-72. Daniel Hamilton had 29 points and 12 rebounds. Darryl Matthews and Isaac Hamilton added 19 points apiece. Arnold Anderson had 18 points and 14 rebounds for Dominguez.

Birmingham (7-7) defeated Grant (11-4), 81-72. Payam Ahmadi scored 21 points. Gor Plavchyan had 31 points and 18 rebounds for Grant. In the Valley Mission League, Granada Hills Kennedy defeated Sylmar, 59-52. Isaiah Foster had 14 points and eight rebounds.

In the Tri-Valley League, Oaks Christian (11-3, 1-0) defeated Fillmore, 77-26. Jackson Miller and Mike Roletti each scored 12 points.

In the Huntington Park tournament, University defeated Douglas, 71-50 Malik Spears had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Dorsey will play Fremont in the Gold Division final Saturday at 7 p.m. at Huntington Park. The Green Division final has Roosevelt playing Carson at 2:30 p.m. The Bronze Division final has Locke vs. Garfield at 4 p.m. The Silver Division final has Franklin vs. LACES at 5:30 p.m.

In the Rio Hondo League, La Canada defeaed Blair, 62-36.
