Boys’ basketball: Mater Dei defeats Orange Lutheran

Xavier Johnson scored 27 points and had 10 rebounds and Stanley Johnson added 17 points as Santa Ana Mater Dei defeated Orange Lutheran, 65-51, in a Trinity League game.
Bellflower St. John Bosco defeated Anaheim Servite, 66-34. Isaac Hamilton scored 21 points and had nine rebounds. Daniel Hamilton added 19 points.
Jordan Mathews scored 32 points in Santa Monica’s 76-67 win over Inglewood in the Ocean League.
Dominguez defeated Lynwood, 70-66, with Arnold Anderson scoring 20 points and getting 13 rebounds. TJ Traylor had 16 points and EJ Johnson 15.
Taturs Mayberry scored 42 points in Muir’s 88-40 win over Burbank Burroughs. Muir is 15-1.
In the Marmonte League, Westlake handed Calabasas its first league defeat, 51-50, on a basket by Grant Lozoya with 3.5 seconds left. Lozoya had 15 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter. Holden Israel had 17 points for Calabasas. Royal defeated Agoura, 82-60, with Nick Creber scoring 18 points and getting 10 rebounds. Simi Valley defeated Thousand Oaks, 69-50.
In the Rio Hondo League, La Canada defeated Temple City, 41-39. In the Pioneer League, Lawndale improved to 13-4 overall with a 57-50 win over El Segundo.
Righetti improved to 13-2 with a 77-39 win over Pioneer Valley. Patrick Sims made five three-pointers and finished with 15 points.
