It’s never easy trying to knock off Los Angeles Windward on its home court in an Alpha League game, but Pacific Hills pulled it off on Tuesday and took control of the league race with a 68-56 win that featured a standout performance from senior point guard Brandon Taylor.

Taylor scored 34 points, including 10 for 10 from the free-throw line, to lead the Bruins (20-3, 4-0). Windward (13-7, 2-1) received 19 points from Jordan Wilson and 17 from Nicholas Stover.

Marcus Jackson added 20 points for Pacific Hills. Windward trailed, 54-37, going into the fourth quarter, then scored 10 consecutive points to pull within 54-47 with 3:47 left. But Taylor took charge after that, keeping Pacific Hills ahead with his free-throw shooting.
