Alex Ball of Westlake Village Westlake has won the Herbalife 24 Chris Sailer Award recognizing the nation’s top high school kicker.

Ball had 19 field goals this season and was dominant in kicking balls into the end zone on kickoffs. He also served as the punter for the Warriors, who won the Northern Division championship.

Ball suffered a knee injury last week against Oaks Christian and is scheduled to undergo surgery. He had to miss Saturday’s CIF state championship Open Division bowl game against Concord De La Salle.

Ball moved to the United States from England when he was 14. He had an outstanding senior season after ending his junior year with a missed field goal in the final seconds of the Northern Division final.

‘I had a lot of support from friends, coaches and family,’ he said.
