Football: Donte Deayon is Mr. Interception

Boise State is getting an interception machine from Fontana Summit named Donte Deayon. The senior has 24 career interceptions, including five this season.

He has helped Summit (12-1) reach Saturday’s Eastern Division championship game against Heritage (12-1).

‘It’s been very exciting,’ Deayon said. ‘I wanted to get more interceptions, but most teams don’t throw it in my direction.’

Coach Tony Barile said, ‘We didn’t really know how special it is until looking at the stats. It’s pretty amazing how often he gets balls. He’s a nice weapon to have.’

Deayon also has rushed for 1,197 yards and 15 touchdowns.
