San Pedro quarterback Kenny Potter appears to be the people’s choice as the top football player in the City Section. At least he’s leading the vote with 41.6% and nearly 1,000 votes in a poll asking who’s the City player of the year?

Receiver Gabe Marks of Venice has made a last-minute surge into second place with almost 28% of the vote.

Of course, winning a championship is the most powerful way to convince people that you’re the best in the City Section, and Friday’s semifinals will be an opportunity to do some campaigning.
