Boys’ basketball: Santa Monica reaches Oaks Christian semifinals

Santa Monica earned a spot into the semifinals of the Oaks Christian tournament, receiving 20 points from Jordan Matthews and 15 from Trevis Jackson in a 58-55 victory over Sacramento.

Santa Monica will play Etiwanda in a 7 p.m. semifinal. The other semifinal will match Oaks Christian and Reseda Cleveland at 8:30 p.m. Etiwanda defeated Eisenhower, 57-48, behind sophomore Jordan McLaughlin, who scored 21 points. Dominique Walker added 14 points. Oaks Christian defeated Palisades, 77-63. Cleveland defeated Upland, 57-50.

In the Torrey Pines tournament, Woodland Hills Taft defeated Torrey Pines, 56-39. Anthony January scored 22 points and Brandon Perry had 17.

In the Chaminade tournament, Chaminade advanced to the finals with a 55-32 win over Saugus. Jaron Martin had 17 points. Chaminade will play Eastside Catholic, which beat Valencia, 56-52. Burbank Providence received 30 points from freshman Marcus LoVett Jr. in a 46-42 consolation win over Granada Hills Kennedy.

In the Modesto Christian tournament, Alemany advanced to the semifinals with a 60-55 win over Sacramento Burbank. Max Guercy scored 25 points. El Camino Real was beaten by Modesto Christian, 65-57.

In the Las Vegas tournament, Gardena Serra made it to the final of its pool with a 72-57 win over Las Vegas Valley. Kajon Mack scored 20 points.

In the Hart tournament, Grant defeated Littlerock, 87-43. Gor Plavchyan had 28 points and 12 rebounds.

In the Clovis tournament, Royal defeated Stockdale, 58-39. Max McCoy and Nick Creber had 11 points apiece.

In Palm Springs, Harvard-Westlake defeated Nevada Bishop Manogue, 92-54. Derick Newton had 20 points.

In the Orange Holiday Classic, Orange Lutheran defeated Anaheim Canyon, 77-67, with Gabe York scoring 38 points.
