Boys’ basketball: Oaks Christian hands Calabasas its first defeat

Oaks Christian did not provide a nice home environment for unbeaten Calabasas on Tuesday night. The Lions came away with a 68-51 victory in a first-round game of the Oaks Christian tournament. Calabasas came in with a 10-0 record.

Point guard Chass Bryan was the big player for Oaks Christian, scoring 14 points and contributing six assists. Mike Roletti and Jackson Miller each had 15 points. Oaks Christian pulled away in the third quarter to take a 47-35 lead after the score was tied, 23-23, at halftime.

Joshua Cohan led Calabasas with 14 points. The big surprise was the poor game by Calabasas sophomore guard Jeremy Lieberman, who went scoreless.

Oaks Christian will face Palisades in a quarterfinal game on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.
