Boys' basketball: Katin Reinhardt is MVP for Mater Dei

Katin Reinhardt scored 20 points, making all four of his three-point shot attempts, and was selected tournament MVP as Santa Ana Mater Dei (11-1) defeated New York Lincoln, 76-69, in the championship game of the MaxPreps tournament in Palm Springs.

Stanley Johnson added 19 points.

In another division of the Maxpreps tournament, Crenshaw (11-3) defeated Corona Santiago, 51-43, to win its division championship. Andre Edwards was named tournament MVP. Harvard-Westlake defeated Sacramento Burbank, 60-52, with Zena Edosomwan scoring 23 points.

In the Clovis tournament, Simi Valley Royal was beaten by San Diego Hoover, 66-61, in the championship game. JR Power had 22 points and made six three-pointers for the Highlanders.
