Anthony January, a 6-foot-7 senior center who played briefly at Compton last season before leaving school, has been cleared to play for Woodland Hills Taft starting on Monday as long as all other requirements have been met, including academics, according to the City Section office.

His clearance changes the whole City Section title picture.

Taft is 4-1 without January and begins play this weekend at the Mission Prep tournament. Taft is also expected to get back next week junior guard Alessandro Alberto, who has been academically ineligible.

Taft is also appealing the decision that made Mater Dei transfer Shaqquan Aaron ineligible. He has his appeal on Wednesday.
