Baseball: Ryan Garvey leaves USC to attend JC

Former Palm Desert standout Ryan Garvey, the son of Dodger great Steve Garvey, has left USC after attending the fall semester and will transfer to Riverside Community College to make himself available for next spring's amateur draft, according to the Desert Sun.

Garvey was taken in the 15th round by the Philadelphia Phillies after his senior season at Palm Desert.
