For some unknown reason _ maybe it’s because open houses at Catholic schools are starting to take place _ there was a rumor started that long-time Sherman Oaks Notre Dame Coach Kevin Rooney might be retiring after this season.

Rooney laughed when asked about that. He said he has no plans to give up the job he has had for 31 years. And why would he? Notre Dame is scheduled to travel to Ireland next season in the second game and will return many of its top players.
