Football: Big games by quarterbacks

The opening round of the football playoffs produced some huge games by quarterbacks.

Junior Conner Manning of Lake Forest El Toro passed for 444 yards and five touchdowns in a 54-30 win over Anaheim Esperanza.

Junior Jihad Vercher of Los Angeles Salesian completed 12 of 13 passes for 378 yards and seven touchdowns in a 69-0 win over Santa Clarita Christian.

Senior Anthony Benitez of Los Angeles Marshall was 12 of 15 for 358 yards in the first half of a victory over Los Angeles Santee.
