Boys' basketball: Corona Centennial gets top freshman

There are lots of outstanding freshman basketball players who will be playing varsity this season, and one of the best should be Corona Centennial guard Sedrick Barefield.

"He is unbelievable," Coach Josh Giles said. "He is the real deal."

Barefield was attending Chaparral until he moved into the Centennial district last week.

He will be one of three likely freshman starters for Centennial. The others are 6-foot-5 Ryan Heiligenthal and 6-2 Kyle Hamilton.
