It’s fundraising time for high school baseball teams. From car washes and to selling Christmas trees, this is the period schools try to raise funds for traveling and equipment purchases in the spring. And Santa Monica High is turning to alumni and celebrities for help.

The baseball team is holding a poker tournament and auction on Saturday starting at 6 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 1600 Ocean Park Blvd., in Santa Monica. Among the scheduled participants are actor Charlie Sheen, who used to be part of the baseball program, along with several ex-major leaguers and current major leaguers.

Anyone can play in the tournament for a fee of $85. Even if you work at TMZ.
