Baseball: Giolito, Fried set to make winter debuts

Check out the batteries for the radar guns. Lucas Giolito and Max Fried, the top two pitchers for Studio City Harvard-Westlake, are set to make their winter pitching debuts this weekend in a tournament at West Ranch.

Giolito is scheduled to throw one inning on Friday. Fried will throw an inning on Saturday. West Ranch, Harvard-Westlake, Notre Dame, Santa Monica and Taft are playing in the tournament that takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday. West Ranch pitcher JC Cloney also will throw Friday.
