Water polo: No. 2 Newport Harbor has eyes on No. 1 Mater Dei

Newport Harbor, ranked No. 2 in Southern Section Division 1 water polo, won the S&R Sports Cup with a 9-7 victory over neighborhood rival Corona del Mar.

The Sailors, who hope to challenge No. 1-ranked Santa Ana Mater Dei for the Division 1 championship, received 11 saves from goalie Koby Yokota.

Newport Harbor (13-1) is making steady progress under first-year Coach Robert Lynn.
