Oaks Christian asks to join Marmonte League for all sports

Westlake Village Oaks Christian officially asked on Tuesday at a meeting of principals from the Marmonte League to join the league for all sports.

Oaks Christian currently only competes in the Marmonte for football, while the other sports are in the Tri-Valley League.

"Our [student] population is approaching 1,000," Athletic Director Jan Hethcock said. "I think we've outgrown the Tri-Valley, and the Tri-Valley agrees."

New leagues will be formed in 2014.
