Football: The kickers are coming through

The kickers keep coming through in the clutch. The latest is Tony Bumatay, a junior at Peninsula who made a 52-yard field goal as time expired on Thursday night to give his team a 23-20 victory over South Torrance.

Alex Ball of Westlake had five field goals against Oaks Christian.

El Camino Real's Ericson Penate has made two game-winning field goals.

Garrett Owens of Arroyo Grande has a 57-yard field goal.

Maybe it's the year of the kicker.
