Football: The amazing Dejon Coleman

October 22, 2011 |  4:52 pm

No player in the City Section has put together a better seven-game performance than senior Dejon Coleman of Arleta. The 5-foot-11 Coleman has used his speed and elusiveness to compile statistics that are stunningly good.

He has rushed for 1,205 yards and scored 25 touchdowns. He has caught 20 passes for 422 yards and four touchdowns. He has returned two interceptions for touchdowns and made 45 tackles. He has two kickoff returns for touchdowns, giving him 33 touchdowns overall.

Arleta Coach Danny Kelley, who was an assistant to Jeff Engilman at Sylmar when the Spartans were turning out top players year after year, said, "He's right there with the elite players from Sylmar."
