Football: QB Hayden Rettig is set to have knee surgery
Hayden Rettig of L.A. Cathedral, one of the top junior quarterbacks in the Southland, is set to have knee surgery this coming week to repair a torn ACL and torn meniscus, Coach Kevin Pearson said.
Rettig will be sidelined a minimum six months. He passed for 530 yards in Cathedral's opener against Banning, then passed for 294 yards in his second game against Pasadena when he was injured.
Pearson said college coaches continue to express interest in Rettig, whose older brother, Chase, plays at Boston College.
