Football: Big Bear wins in a state-record eight overtimes

It took a state-record eight overtimes to decide the football game between Big Bear and Desert Hot Springs. Big Bear won, 56-50.

The old state record for longest game was seven overtimes in 1991. The national record is 12 overtimes.

‘I heard a lot of ‘unbelievable, greatest game I’ve ever seen,’’ said Big Bear Coach Dave Griffiths.
