Football: Big Bear wins in a state-record eight overtimes
It took a state-record eight overtimes to decide the football game between Big Bear and Desert Hot Springs. Big Bear won, 56-50.
Here's the story link from the Desert Sun newspaper on an amazing game that took nearly four hours to complete and was tied, 22-22, after regulation.
The old state record for longest game was seven overtimes in 1991. The national record is 12 overtimes.
"I heard a lot of 'unbelievable, greatest game I've ever seen,'" said Big Bear Coach Dave Griffiths.
