Griffen Kramer, a backup quarterback at Thousand Oaks, was found dead Sunday at a friend’s house in Agoura Hills, school officials confirmed Monday. Kramer was 18.

Kramer is the son of former NFL quarterback Erik Kramer.

In a statement, the school, with information it said was provided by the family, announced that ‘initial indications suggest his passing was due to alcohol poisoning.’

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that it does not ‘suspect any criminal activity contributed to or led to his death.’

Kramer, a senior, transferred to Thousand Oaks from Agoura before his junior year.

Counselors and administrative teams were made available to Thousand Oaks students on Monday.

‘It’s a tough time right now,’ Coach Mike Leibin said. ‘We met this morning with players, and kids have been in and out of my office all day. We talked about the grieving process, and everybody is going to deal with it differently.’
