Fooball: Alemany defeats Bishop Amat, 26-21

Alemany (5-2, 2-0) picks up a victory in its Serra League opener with a 26-21 victory over host Bishop Amat (5-2, 0-1).

The game ended with an interception by Bishop Amat’s Ajee Montes, who returned the ball roughly 30 yards to midfield as time expired. The game clocked showed there was one second remaining in the game when Montes was tackled, but the referees ruled time had expired.

Kawan Rally rushed for 319 yards and scored four touchdowns as El Camino Real defeated Taft, 48-7, in a West Valley League opener. It’s the first win for the Conquistadores over Taft since 1991.
