Cross country: Mt. SAC Invitational has top teams and athletes

The best cross country invitational of the season is set to take place Friday and Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College.

More than 20,000 runners and more than 400 schools are participating in the Mt. SAC Invitational.

In the boys’ division, the top 10 teams in the state will be competing in the team sweepstakes race on Saturday at 11:11 a.m.

In the girls’ division, Temecula Great Oak, Simi Valley and La Costa Canyon will be featured in the girls’ team sweepstakes on Saturday at 10:21 a.m.

Harvard-Westlake’s Cami Chapus will do battle with Simi Valley sophomore sensation Sarah Baxter.

There will be 110 races starting at 11 a.m. on Friday and resuming at 7:10 a.m. on Saturday.
