You have to say that Mission Viejo isn’t ducking anybody this season. The Diablos left for New Jersey on Tuesday and practiced on Wednesday at the Meadowlands in preparation for a Saturday game against Don Bosco Prep, which has won 35 consecutive games and is ranked No. 1 by USA Today.

‘We’re in for a big test,’ Coach Bob Johnson said. ‘These guys are absolutely loaded. They’re the best we’ve faced in a long time.’

Win or lose, Johnson said he expects his team to benefit from the game.

‘We can get a lot out of it,’ he said.

The team got a VIP tour of the New York Jets training and practicing facility. Former Mission Viejo quarterback Mark Sanchez plays for the Jets. The team also traveled by bus to Ground Zero.

On Thursday, the team is scheduled to practice at Princeton University.
