Football: Khalfani Muhammad makes good first impression

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame has scored on its opening possession of the season behind junior running back Khalfani Muhammad, who scored from the one-yard line for a 6-0 lead over Gardena Serra.

Notre Dame looked good on its opening drive, running Muhammad again and again after getting the ball on the Serra 46. He had carries of six, five, four and 21 yards.

Serra got the ball on the opening drive and punted after three downs.

Serra closed to 6-3 at end of first on a 32-yard field goal by Eddie Garcia,
