Football: Don Markham resigns at Compton

After only two games, Don Markham has resigned as football coach at Compton after the school failed to hire him as a teacher.

Markham said he was told there were no teaching positions on Tuesday.

Defensive coordinator Brian Collins is expected to become the interim coach.

Markham, known for his double-wing offense, had Compton off to a 1-1 start.
