Each week, we get a clearer indication about City Section teams, and this week will be no different.

Garfield, after losing to tough Southern Section schools Bishop Amat and Huntington Beach Edison, tries 2-0 Dorsey.

Taft, after losing in the final seconds to Dorsey, takes on 2-0 Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Taft first-year Coach Chris Rizzo was pleased with his team’s defense. Dejaun Butler had a couple of sacks and Daniel Clay had an interception.

Arleta, behind a six-touchdown performance from Dejon Coleman, knocked off Marshall and faces a strong challenge from Chatsworth this week.

South East is 2-0 and figures to be 4-0 before facing Garfield in an Eastern League showdown looming in a couple of weeks.
