Carson pulled out a 26-22 victory over Mater Dei with a touchdown in the final six seconds.
No. 3-ranked Alemany routed Pasadena, 55-0. New quarterback Devon Dunn passed for three touchdowns and ran for another. Steven Mitchell scored two touchdowns.
No. 5 Santa Margarita defeated Long Beach Jordan, 56-0. Defensive end Chris Frost had nine tackles and three sacks. Conner O’Brien made two interceptions. Johnny Stanton completed eight of 12 passes for 151 yards.
Venice rallied for a 34-27 win over Harvard-Westlake.
Bishop Amat defeated Garfield, 14-0. Birmingham routed West Adams, 49-16. Junior Isaiah Hastings returned a kickoff for a TD.
