Football: Antelope Valley to honor past champions

Antelope Valley will be honoring its championship teams of the past this season by inviting an honorary captain to accompany its principal to participate in the pre-game coin toss.

The school will honor each of its championship teams in the coming weeks, inviting players to return to be honored at halftime. The 1981 championship team will be honored Friday, followed by the 1976 and 1977 teams on Oct. 7, the 1988 team on Oct. 28 and the 1994 team on Nov. 4.
