Football: Another Southern Section test for Garfield

Trying to prepare for the Eastern League and the tough teams in the City Section playoffs, Garfield will face Huntington Beach Edison on Thursday night at Huntington Beach after losing to La Puente Bishop Amat, 14-0, last week.

Lance Fernandez rushed for 101 yards, and the defense certainly held its own against a team that’s ranked No. 3 in the Pac-5 Division.

Edison will be without Coach Dave White, who is serving a one-game suspension for an alleged pre-enrollment contact.
