It appears that mythical national title will stay that way for Concord De La Salle this season.

De La Salle, ranked No. 5 in the nation by USA Today, lost to No. 2 Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas (3-0), 30-6, on national TV on Friday. The loss snaps the Spartans’ winning streak at 28 games.

De La Salle (2-1) is the two-time defending CIF Open Division champion and a favorite to return to this year’s Open Division game.

It is the Spartans worst loss since 2009 when they lost to Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep by an identical score.
