Boys’ basketball: L.A. Price is set to play L.A. Windward

The matchups are out for the Jan. 28 Fairfax State Preview Classic at Fairfax High, and two of the most intriguing games are Los Angeles Price taking on Los Angeles Windward at 4:30 p.m. and Orange Lutheran facing Los Angeles Loyola at 8 p.m.

Price and Windward are expected to be state title contenders. Price picked up Montclair Prep transfer Trey Dickerson to go with San Diego State commit Skylar Spencer and top junior Chance Murray. Windward was one of the most impressive teams this summer and returns Nick Stover and Jordan Wilson.

Orange Lutheran has Arizona-bound Gabe York, who will be challenged by Loyola’s outstanding group of guards. There might be so many three-point attempts that fans will get a neck ache from having to look up so often.

Here’s the complete schedule of games: La Canada vs. Oceanside El Camino, 10:30 a.m.; Sherman Oaks Notre Dame vs. San Diego Francis Parker, noon; Santa Monica vs. Alemany, 1:30 p.m.; Harvard-Westlake vs. Torrey Pines, 3 p.m.; Price vs. Windward, 4:30 p.m.; Fairfax vs. Gardena Serra, 6:30 p.m.; Loyola vs. Orange Lutheran, 8 p.m.
