Baseball: Matt Dominguez promoted by Florida Marlins

Former Chatsworth third baseman Matt Dominguez has been called up to the major leagues by the Florida Marlins and will join the team on Tuesday.

The 2007 Chatsworth grad and former first-round draft pick knows lots of players on the Marlins, because Mike Stanton (Notre Dame), Brett Hayes (Notre Dame) and Bryan Petersen (Chatsworth) are all from the San Fernando Valley.

Dominguez turned 22 on Aug. 28.
