Softball: Marshall's Megan Reiner leads Los Angeles to RBI World Series title

Pitcher Megan Reiner, who recently completed her senior season at Los Angeles Marshall, pitched  a complete-game three-hitter to lead Los Angeles to the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities World Series title on Sunday in Minneapolis with a 3-0 victory over Santo Domingo.

Reiner struck out nine and went one for three with a run scored on the way to being selected the game's most valuable player. She helped Los Angeles finish the tournament undefeated and become the first team to repeat as champions since Atlanta won titles from 2001-07.

Former Crenshaw shortstop Loren Williams had two of Los Angeles' three hits and stole two bases.

The championship game will air on MLB Network and mlb.com at noon Aug. 21.

The baseball portion of the RBI World Series begins Wednesday, with the junior and senior championship games being played Aug. 14 at Target Field in Minneapolis.
