Boys' basketball: Taft's Jason Hart to coach in Boost Mobile Elite 24

August 18, 2011 |  4:14 pm

Before he makes his debut at City Section power Taft, Jason Hart will get to coach some of the top high school players in the country.

Hart has been selected as the head coach of one of the teams competing in the Boost Mobile Elite 24 at 4 p.m. PDT on Aug. 27 in Venice Beach. His team will include Orange Lutheran senior guard Gabe York and Las Vegas Bishop Gorman's Shabazz Muhammad, widely considered the top player in the Class of 2012.

Muhammad's high school coach, Grant Rice, will coach the other team.

The assistant coaches on Hart's team will include former UCLA standout Kevin Love and former Compton Dominguez star Brandon Jennings. Love was an All-Star last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Jennings has established himself as one of the NBA's top young point guards with the Milwaukee Bucks.
