Boys' basketball: St. John Bosco could be dynasty in making if Anthony January is accepted

Derrick Taylor could have oodles of talent to work with in his first season as boys' basketball coach at St. John Bosco.

In addition to transfers Isaac and Daniel Hamilton, who officially enrolled Wednesday, the Braves could have highly touted 6-foot-7 wing player Anthony January on their roster. January, a top-100 player who has given Texas El Paso a verbal commitment, has toured campus and applied for enrollment, according to Taylor. He is awaiting word on his acceptance.

January attended Compton last year before withdrawing in December. He was home-schooled the remainder of the school year, according to Taylor. The addition of January could make the Braves even more formidable as they vie with Mater Dei and Santa Margarita for Trinity League supremacy.
