Arden Pabst of Studio City Harvard-Westlake could have lots to tell his friends about what he accomplished during summer vacation.

He had two hits Friday night to help the USA 16U national team defeat Venezuela, 18-17, in 10 innings to clinch a spot in the gold medal game of the IBF World ‘AA’/16U Youth Championships in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Pabst, who will be a junior this fall, has been playing third base for the USA team while he’s normally the starting catcher for Harvard-Westlake.

The USA team will play in Sunday’s gold medal championship game.
