L.A. teams advance to RBI World Series

Los Angeles won the Pacific Regional Junior Division (ages 13 to 15) baseball tournament at Angel Stadium, earning the team a trip to the RBI World Series at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins, from Aug. 9-14.

Center fielder Tyree Davis, who will be a sophomore at Compton Centennial, scored four runs in the championship game. Sophomore pitcher Christopher Castellanos of Long Beach Poly threw a complete game with eight strikeouts.

The Los Angeles softball team won its regional division (18 and under) to advance to the RBI Softball World Series in Minnesota.
