Howard Abrams, who has worked at Van Nuys Montclair Prep for 35 years, including 25 as the boys’ basketball coach, said he received a form letter in the mail on Monday informing him that his contract to teach will not be renewed.

Abrams has been one of the school’s most dedicated employees. It was announced on Monday that the school will be dropping its sports program.

For Abrams to not even get a phone call informing him of the school’s decision is pretty sickening. He has a daughter attending UCLA.

‘Life will go on,’ Abrams said.

Also reportedly losing his job is long-time athletic director-basketball coach Greg Patterson.
