Chatsworth lost lots of its top baseball players to graduation, but this summer, the Chancellors have come up with some new standouts, including pitcher-first baseman Kiefer Kofman.

Kofman, a senior, has been the team’s best pitcher and hitter. Chatsworth, which plays as Valley North in the VIBL, is 10-1 and tied with Royal for the best record in the league. Chatsworth ends the first half of play on Friday with a 5 p.m. game at home against Crespi. The all-star games are set for Saturday at Harvard-Westlake’s O’Malley Field.

Chatsworth has been using a pitching by committee strategy during the summer. All-City outfielder Raul Camas, plus returnees Jared Holley and Ricky Obando have helped Kofman in the hitting department.
