Track and field: Dorsey’s Rashard Clark has fastest time in boys’ 400

Dorsey’s Rashard Clark ran the fastest time in the boys’ 400 preliminary heats Friday at Clovis Buchanan High during the state track meet, winning in 47.58 seconds.

Long Beach Poly’s Shaquille Howard won his heat in 47.59 and also advanced to Saturday’s championship. Other qualifiers from Southern California were Gardena Serra’s Pete Lauderdale (47.85), Vista Murrieta’s Bernard Quinn (47.98), Long Beach Poly’s Kameron White (48.08) and Great Oak’s Sean Burd (48.15).
