Max Fried, Ashley Grossman to receive top athlete awards

Junior Max Fried from Van Nuys Montclair Prep and Ashley Grossman from Studio City Harvard-Westlake will receive awards as the male and female athletes of the year from the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame during a banquet on June 26 at the Skirball Cultural Center & Museum.

Fried was a starter for the Mounties' section finalist basketball team while also starring on the mound for the baseball team. He has committed to UCLA.

Grossman was the Wolverines' standout in water polo. She will be attending Stanford this fall.

Brentwood's Andrew Kallick will be the recipient of the Allan Malamud Memorial Scholarship.
