Two incoming freshmen football players have the coaches at Newhall Hart and West Hills Chaminade excited about their future.

For the first time since Mike Herrington took over as Hart coach in 1989, he might start a freshman in receiver Trent Irwin, who arrives as a standout in youth football.

Chaminade’s quarterback of the future is 6-3 freshman Ricky Town, who completed eight of nine passes when given a chance to play on Friday at the Saugus tournament.

Hart is also excited about 6-1 freshman quarterback Brady White, the son of former Indians basketball standout Deron White.
