Santa Ana Mater Dei came out of the early morning session of the Dana Hills tournament as the No. 1 seed for the champioship round, with Long Beach Poly No. 2.

The championship round has St. John Bosco playing Los Alamitos and Huntington Beach Edison taking on Los Angeles Loyola. Mater Dei will play the winner of St. John Bosco-Los Alamitos in the semifinals, with Poly taking on the Loyola-Edison winner.

I was impressed with Loyola and receiver Kodi Whitfield. The Cubs lost to Poly in overtime in a morning game. And Mater Dei has been surprisingly good considering the Monarchs are breaking in a new quarterback in baseball player Ryan McMahon. Poly has done well even though the Jackrabbits are missing two of their top receivers.
