Covina Charter Oak defeated Valencia in the championship game of the Bonita seven-on-seven passing tournament. Travis Santiago, who passed for more than 2,400 yards last season, led Charter Oak, which beat Los Angeles Loyola in the semifinals.

Receivers Chris Gilcrest, Aaron Vaughns and Bryce Bobo also made major contributions.

Valencia, which made it to the championship game for the second consecutive year, was led by junior receiver-defensive back Tedric Thompson.

‘Thompson played spectacularly,’ Coach Larry Muir said.
