Football: Chaminade's blue turf is taking shape

The blue carpet is out, and West Hills Chaminade will soon have the only blue-turf football field in the Los Angeles area.

I stopped by the campus Wednesday to see the construction progress on Chaminade's all-weather field. It's supposed to be completed by next week.

It certainly catches your attention and will take some time to get used to.

West Hills in Santee also has blue turf. See here.

Athletic Director Todd Borowski talked about the field patterned after Boise State's blue field. Here's video.

This marvelously unique field is to be credited to Mr. Jim Adams, President, Chaminade College Preparatory. During his tenure, first as principal, and now as President, has brought about the tremendous growth the school has experienced during the last 10 years. Hats off to Mr. Jim Adams and his staff.

Its funny how everyone wants to knock Boise State, yet more and more colored football fields keep popping up.....
