Football: Chaminade is going blue

West Hills Chaminade's new all-weather football field will be blue.

"Florida blue, baby," Coach Ed Croson said.

Croson said the blue turf will be similar to the field at Boise State. Construction will be finished in time for the fall season.

Asked if a blue field will cause his team to win more games at home, Croson said, "It's going to be pretty."

I see a trend.....St. Francis should pull up the new Fieldturf they are in the process of installing now and install brown turf, Cathedral should install purple, St. Paul dark blue and Serra should do do red turf....the Mission League can be called the M & M League...or teams can compete for the Skittles trophy at the end of the year.

Blue? They gonna play with blue balls too? This guy needs to have his head examined though.

That's horrible! My son played in the WAC and we couldn't stand watching games at Boise State because of that painful color. It is NOT pretty! And to watch it on TV is even worse. Please don't ruin the fan's viewing experience by painting the field blue.

Wow. Awesome. This is amazing a HS is going to do this. Way to step it up Chaminade! Always setting the standard.
